About the Sembalun Subdistrict
A high valley at the foot of Rinjani. Six villages tend their fields, hiking trails, and a Sasak tradition that time has not faded.
At around 1,100 metres above sea level, Sembalun is the main gateway of the Rinjani trek and a highland farming heartland. Its six villages link together into one tourism area.
